Day 28!!!

I did it...28 days of being a vegan. 

128.8 lbs... (in 28 days I lost 7.2 lbs...I was hoping for 10) 

I kind of like being a vegan and I am thinking that I might stick with it.  I feel really good and hopefully I will continue losing weight.

Day 22

130.0... I so want to see the 120s...even if it is 129. 

Last night I made the best dinner...PIZZA.  Whole wheat pizza dough topped with copped endive, leeks and tomatoes.  It was totally YUMMY. 

I think I am in love with the Daily Method class.  It really is the first form of excercise I have ever liked!!!

Day 18- 20

I have been so behind on the blog!!!  Today I was 131.8 lb which I actually good considering the weekend I had.  Girls Weekend in Carmel...lots of wine and 2 stuffed mushrooms that had cheese in them.  :-(

Tonight I made the BEST dinner.  I made a Carsar Salad out of my favorite vegan cook book.  Basically you make your own croutons, lettuce and this super yummy dressing.  Even Tim liked it. 

2 weeks until I go on vacation.  Is there any shot I can be 125 lbs?

On day 17 I am happy to report....130.4 lbs!!!  I can not believe I am almost our of the 130s. Yippee!!!

I made spring rolls today.  It was my mom's birthday so I invited her to lunch and made Spring Rolls and Miso Soup.

DAY 12

Need to get back on track... 

Baume was awesome last night but it was a 15 course meal with wine pairings.  They made 15 vegan courses for me!!!  Unbelievable!!! 

BAD NEWS...135.8 today.  WHAT?!?!  From 1 dinner?  This is crazy.

Day 10 & 11

Day 10
What a BAD day...I was out all day with the kids so by dinner time I was exhausted.  Tim and I ordered out and when I got my meal I realized there was some yogurt sauce all over it.  So now...I had NOTHING for dinner so I just ate bread.  WHITE BREAD....the kind of White Bread that makes your butt big.  Then to top it off....I was craving sugar so I ate some sugar candy.  TERRIBLE DAY.

Day 11
I got what I deserved...1 lb heavier!!!  Oh hell !!!  I already did the daily method today and now I am going on a walk. 

Tonight I am going to "Baume".  Some new place in PA for dinner and they only offer tasting menus.  What am I going to do?  Will there be a Vegan option?

Day 7 & 8

As of Day 8... 133.0 lbs. 

Just got back from Whole Foods.  Literally I had 3 people helping me find lotus roots for some recipe I want to make.  Ends up I have to go to Japanese Grocery Store.  I got stuff for 3 recipes out of "The Kind Diet"...so far everything I have made has been awesome. 

Did an excersice class this morning and now my body feels like I have been beat up.

MEXICIAN FOOD...Vegan Style...
I made mexican food tonight...tortillas with "smart meat" (not exactly sure what it really is but it looks like goround beef and had taco seasoning), salsa and beans.  Tim loved it until he saw me eating the same thing.  He then realized it was NOT ground beef and stopped eating and said he was full.  Right!!!

The funniest thing ever...

At Easter Brunch this morning my sister pointed out that I am wearing fur and claiming I am a vegan.  What is wrong with this picture? 

For dinner I made a full vegan meal for my family.  To my surprise my whole family liked it.

So annoyed today!!!  1 lb heavier this morning...WHAT?  I have been eating perfectly and been excercising.  What is the reason for this?  Help!!! 

Going to the Dutch Goose tonight for dinner....what the hell am I going to eat?

DAY 3

134.4 lbs...I am getting there...SLOWLY

Breakfast... protein shake...

Lunch... Chipolte.  It was awesome.  I got a salad with corn and salsa and some black beans.  The best part is the kids love it too.

Off to a workout session with my brother-in- law.  He calls it the "CP Method."  Bring it on!!!

Workout went well...I think my brother-in-law just likes bossing us around more then anything else.  I will be sore tomorrow. 

Dinner...Went to a "Pizza Party"...sounds terrible for a new found vegan.  But my girlfriend was so sweet that she had 3 vegan salads for me to eat!!!  3 VEGAN SALADS!!!  Does not get much better. 

PS - Dear God, Tomorrow when I wake up can I please be 133.  PLEASE.

Day 2

135.0 this morning....

Just had a frozen Vegan Chesse Blitz from Trader Joes.  Considereing there was no cheese in it...it was actually good.

Lunch...just some veggie soup and a piece of rice bread


DINNER...MY FIRST VEGAN RESTAURANT!!!
We went to the "Loving Hut" in Palo Alto.  This was my great idea that went terribly wrong. First off...the people...Are all vegans freaks?  I felt like they were staring at me and me at them.  It was so uncomfortable...I felt like people were even looking at what I was wearing...I guess I am not hippie enough or something. Then, Jenna Anne said crying because she wanted pasta and Tim took one look at the menu and said he was going for pizza.  So Tim and the kids left to get pizza and I stayed and ordered dinner.  I had no option ...what was I going to get at a pizza parlor.  I got spring rolls and a salad at the "Loving Hut " and not even that good.  All and all a totally bust!!!

DAY 1

Ok...here we go...

This morning I was 135.4 (at least I lost 1 lb in my sleep).  I had a protien shake and 1/2 cup coffee for breakfast. (Trying to get off coffee but doing it slowly)  I used Almond milk for the shake and coffee. 

I am going to spend my day at Trader Joes trying to figure out what Vegans eat!!!  My sister tells me there are things like "vegan sausages."  WHAT?  What the hell would be in that?  Keep you posted.

Just got back from Trader Joes and they have tons of stuff.  My friend gave me a link for all things vegan at TJs.

My lunch...it was actually good.  That thing that looks like turkey is called "tofurky".  Added a little hummas, basil, tomato and sprouts on a whole wheat tortilla. 

Dinner was a success...or at least in my mind.  Vegan Fried Rice and Sushi.

Tim in not home yet...so we will see what he thinks.  I got both recipes out of  "The Kind Diet."

Getting Ready...

1. Made the decision to do it...Vegan 28 days...
2. Set a start date...tomorrow (3/31/10) 
3. Got a cookbook - "The Kind Diet" 
4. Got on the scale... 136.2.  Hoping I am a little lighter because I just finished dinner and it is the end of the day...could be wishful thinking...



5. Set a goal...lose 10 lbs in 28 days. 

We will see how this goes.  I am going to blog about what I eat and make, my weight gain and loss, and how my family and I are surviving.  I have never done anything like this before.  I have never even been a vegatarian before let alone a vegan.
